If Metro Metro rail workers go on strike on Wed Dec 18th (next week), I'd say fire them all -- just as President Ronald Reagan did to the traffic controllers in the 1980s (aka the Ronald Reagan shuffle).
It sounds they are resisting the inevitable: privatization. The government just doesn't have the money to keep everything public. It looks like the communists are still hard at work at throwing a monkey wrench in the works.
How serious will the subway disruption be? |

Why should they privatize it?
Even NYC's system is public. Although Tokyo's system is slowly being privatized (almost 30-years and slowly continuing). Anyways a privately run subway system will most likely be begging for government money anyways. |
