Probably farmers protesting the proposed FTA with China. It is amazing that they need thousands of police to monitor them.

It could also be a protest against a pending FTA with Australia, a death to America rally, a pro- or anti- North Korea rally, anything about Japan, or just another weekend in Seoul. Ever since they were caught off guard by the anti-American beef rallies a few years ago, the riot police in Seoul remain locked, cocked, and ready to rock.

I saw the news. It was labor protests and anit-Park protests. They actually fired water cannons on some of the protesters.

That's a cold shot, babe.

You people obviously were not here in the early '90s when tear gas was the scent of summer.

Ah! The good ole days.....

Yes T-J. I remember the 90's and the spring/summer "riot season". Quite the thing. Saw some epic street battles. The protesters usually gave as much as they got.

Or in the late 1970s with the elder President Park. Quite the experience getting caught in the crowd protesting in front of Parliament.

Joe Biden was in town, meeting with President Park. Hence the extra police.
