Yes there are many buy and sell groups but is there an easy way to get rid of some stuff that I don't need.

The reason is that I'm leaving my own place and going into school provided housing.

Craigslist would be one place.

Also, if you live in the right neighborhood, the guys who run secondhand shops drive around some days buying and collecting used goods. Or you could just find one and see what he'd give you to take the stuff off your hands.
