|
|
I got nervous today as I read the forum and one guy applied to 100 different places with no positive results. Anyways it will be my first teaching experience, I have no TEFL certificate and was hoping to go somewhere for Feb 2014.
I have no idea how many places to apply for or what the turn around time is for these types of jobs. |

Feb start? You've already got all your paperwork ready correct? |

Misty92, based on your user name I'm assuming you are young and female. You will get a job in no time. Welcome to Korea!

Do you mean E2 Visa paperwork? If so just about everything, I have to wait until January 6 to get the last document (transcript) I need unfortunately. Then I can head down to the Korean Consulate to get them confirmed (Canadian). |

having to wait a little longer will be a good thing anyway. Itll give you more time to save up since you'll probably need to pay for your airfare, need money to get you by for a month when you arrive and possibly have to pay twice as much for visa as before. |

You have to have your paperwork or else no replies. Your paperwork is:
FBI CBC apostilled and notarized - they are only good for 6 months.
Degree copy apostilled and notarized - good indefinitely
Two written recommendations - at least one a professor or educational inst.
You will want to get multiple copies of all obviously. The recommendations must be signed and in a sealed envelope with a signature over the envelope seal and you will want to scan one of the copies for each recommendation. |

This is the method for Americans .
Canadians need a RCMP CRC and Degree copy notarized by a notary public. Both documents then need to be stamped at a Korean consulate.
In regards to the recommendation letters, it can be an advantage, but usually not necessary. |
