So, it turns out that virtually every female Korean celebrity has been prostituting herself to wealthy Korean business men.
Celebrity sex-for-money is probed

Koreans are generally accepting of this, but when a Korean female dates a foreign person, she is often considered a race-traitor, and you see crazy documentaries like:
MBC: The Shocking Truth About Relationships With Foreigners
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B09FXOZVw4g
Have sex for money with Koreans for fame and glory - OK!
Have sex with with a foreign person for love, language improvement, or simple curiosity - not OK! You are a race traitor! |

Well, hopefully this is the beginning of women beginning to have more rights and puts an end to these shady practices. At the same time, why these women allow themselves to be all because they desire fame and status is beyond me. Though when you have idiots with no special talent like Kim Khardasian releasing a sex video and then getting a reality show and being another useless famous person, I guess we really can't point the finger. Maybe there is less force in Hollywood, though. But still self serving behaviour and motives.
I can't speak for others, but I personally love meeting a lady who wants to meet me too. Forced doesn't really do it for me. |

So, when an article comes out that portrays Koreans negatively, all of a sudden Korean media is a bastion of truth and integrity?
But when someone writes an article talking about foreigners, Korean media is unethical and lacks integrity? |

Wow -- most of my socks are black or grey, or white for my athletic ones -- I didn't know they made socks in transparent! |

Care to elaborate? Or just give a hint about who wears the see-through socks? |

I was using "sock" as a synonym for "troll" or "flame-baiter," though I do realize that they all connote different things -- a sock is more often a second account one uses in order to act as a troll without tarnishing one's reputation (a "sock puppet," and then later, simply a "sock").
I was expressing the idea that it was very clear to me (i.e. "transparent") that cmxc was trying to stir up strong reactions simply for the purpose of stirring up strong reactions ("trolling"). I wanted to pretend to be clever, so I wanted a less direct assertion, so I went with "the colors of socks I have seen."
It amused me at the time, and I'll stand by it.
Elaborate enough? |

I thought you meant you knew the OP's alter-identity. I was hoping for a hint as to who he may be. OP posts interesting and negative articles on Korea but doesn't really comment on them. Seems kind of sock-ish. |

Oh! I'm sorry -- no, I don't know another identity for 990. |

I thought this was old news, and a fairly well known practice. I thought this was one of the biggest open secrets in the Korean entertainment industry. I just assumed they were all prostitutes, and whoever slept with the most chaebol ajeossis typically landed whatever role they were going for on TV. I'm actually shocked to hear that some of the women I see on TV here are NOT prostitutes. |

You think this doesn't happen anywhere?
Where did the term "casting couch" come from again? |

I wonder if at that level of prostitution if the girls pretend to enjoy it and act passionately about it, or if they just lie there. Or, a third possibility because Korea, maybe they do the whole 애교 thing and act like, "oh what's going on, 오빠? I've never done this before." |
