We will be moving back to the USA in late Feb and both me and my wife have Android phones (Galaxy 4 and Galaxy Note). Can we use these in the states or do we have to buy new phones there? I'm not really tech savvy so just want the easiest answer possible. Thanks in advance. |

Short answer is yes, it will work.
You should be aware of a few caveats, however...
The phones need to be unlocked (i.e. not locked to your current Korean carrier).
You will be limited to using T-Mobile or AT&T (or MVNOs using either of those two networks). You won't be able to use them on Verizon or Sprint.
Your data speeds will likely be limited. You probably won't be able to enjoy LTE speeds and there's a small chance 3G may not work either.
FWIW I've been using an SKT Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile in the US for the last several months. Although there are a few quirks, it's not enough of an issue to make me buy a new handset. |
