For example, Americans generally use Facebook, LinkedIn, Forums (such as Dave ESL), Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest etc..

What do Koreans use? I've heard of Cyworld, but have no idea what else they use.

They use to use Cyworld. They had an English one which was run seperately to c-block all the foriegners. But, then around 2010ish or so, they started getting into Facebook and Twitter. So, you can find groups via those and network all you want. Linked in and others used here a bit too.

Probably some naver or daum cafe's too. You'd have to sign up for those sites.

If you are on a bus, and look over the shoulder of a Korean college student, there's a pretty strong chance that Facebook is what you will see (that is, if not Kakaotalk, which of course is what you see the most).

Anecdotally, though, Facebook seems to have fallen out of favor with people in their late (and mid?) 20's and up, but I don't know what they're using instead. Generally, though, what I've seen quite a lot is that all Facebook use totally ceases when one gets married. Whether this is because marriage leads to a form of bliss that makes Facebook superfluous, or because there is the horrendous risk that you if you post something on FB, someone of the opposite sex might comment on it.... well, I really don't know the answer to that one.

Facebook and Twitter have taken over mostly. Me2day is gone, Cyworld (very popular in the early 2000's) is close to gone. Kakostory is going strong though.
