Haggie bosses are notorious for mistreatment of not only foreign teachers
but Korean staff as well.
But check this out, it's not as bad as you might think.

One group she works with, Break the Chain, has assisted 250 workers since 1997 who lodged complaints that they were grossly underpaid, abused or essentially held captive by consular or World Bank staffers, mainly in New York and Washington.

It's laughable that they are demanding an apology from the U.S. Give me a fucking break. |

eh, i don't think it's unreasonable. since the indian embassy is technically indian soil
i would expect compensation about as lucrative as my home country actually.
if I were a professional making 100K and i moved to a new country, i would expect to make 100K
if I was making $10 a day in my home country, well, whatever lol it's still what i make in my home country
i don't see it as exploitation. unless they were blatantly lied to when they took the job. sounds to me like the help knew that they are getting paid a fair amount and took the job regardless.
if anything, i think they should change the rule but i can be a barbarian at times hehehehehehe |

Didn't know that was a real word. I know it is not the same as 'hagwon' if it is.
What is a haggie that requires an owner?? |

Hee hee, hagwon/hakwon, if you prefer.
Most of us don't get all worked up over such trivial matters.
