Koh Tao is pretty much an all diving island. Even to the point where if you aren't diving, they don't want you in their hotel. I wouldn't really say I "recommend" it, but I imagine they have PADI courses starting everyday, so it would be really easy to just show up and start a course. |

As someone who lived and taught scuba there, this is pretty much correct. |

I did my course and became Dive Instructor in Ko Tao. I agree with the above posters. Tremendous amounts of dive shops/schools there. So its easy for instruction. If you are already certified there is much better diving around Thailand though. I've heard Pucket and Similian are awesome. |
