If you were to make a list of the most inspiring movies, what would be on it?

http://www.afi.com/100years/cheers.aspx

What do you think of that list? Would yours look similar?

"A jury of 1,500 film artists, critics and historians selected the classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, starring James Stewart, as the most inspiring movie of all time."

Have you seen this movie? It is so good. It turned me from a Scrooge into a more generous person. Today at school I gave a 한라봉 to each teacher/staff member (and some cleaners) at my school. It cost me 100,000 won. The movie inspired me to do that. The song Auld Lange Syne from that film is so beautiful. It really touched my heart.

If you're in to this sort of thing, some of the best swordplay ever done on film: El Cid

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054847/?ref_=ttmd_md_nm

You've got to have grown up without a TV or any friends of any kind not to have seen or heard of It's a Wonderful Life and Jimmy Stuart.

Not true. Last night I was with expats. Everyone I talked to about the movie had never seen it. These people were in their 20's; you're in your 40's, so maybe there is a generational gap. Among young people, newer movies are more well known. Every single Korean I have talked to about It's a Wonderful Life has never seen it or even heard about it.

I'm 30 and I've never seen "It's a Wonderful Life." I see it on TV every year but I always flip right past it. I have a general idea on what it's about as it's referenced in just about everything this time of year but no I've never watched it for more than 10 seconds.

Im 40 and Ive never seen it either. Nor do I want to.

Anyway, inspirational movies;

rocky 4! who can watch that montage and not want to get fit and kick someone's arse?!

Any movie by Jean Pierre Jeunete inspires me to save more money, study languages, and reminds me there is more to life than teaching efl in korea.

And 2010. It always reminds me to keep things on perspective.

Description of video :

As we look back over the past hundred years, America has experienced the Great Depression, multiple recessions, stagflation and the loss of 99% of the dollarʼs purchasing power - none of it wouldʼve been possible without the Federal Reserve, creating bubbles and bursting them, enslaving us with debt and destroying our purchasing power through inflation

Yes, itʼs been a wonderful lie — for the banksters

And many Americans are left like George Bailey. Facing the collapse of their dreams and financial ruin

There are striking parallels in Frank Capraʼs Itʼs a Wonderful Life to lies and tricks of the modern banker elite. Human nature doesnʼt change and the greedy elite of 1913 and 2013 look much like Potter

Me neither. Along with Titanic, Tree of Life, Life of Pi, or any other crap that critics and their sheep call "Life-changing", "Inspirational", or when you know it's utter dreck: "Must see movie of the year"

Inspirational?
The Power of One
Taxi Driver
Equilibrium
Enter the Dragon
Joe Kid on a Stingray

Life of Pi was decent. I didn't find it inspirational I just thought it was a neat story and an easy watch. I saw it about a year or so after it came out and it was on HBO so I turned it on and was pleasantly surprised.

Not judging, just curious as to what you found inspirational about Taxi Driver?

Really? If you have to ask, then you will never be able to comprehend. And on that note, I think you are a distant relative to either donkeys or monkeys.
