I just saw this job ad...
35,000,000 KRW per year (plus housing) for a western lawyer with 5 years actual legal experience?
This is not a typical ESL uni job. This is for real lawyers who will be teaching law.
I know things are rough for lawyers in the states, but is it really this bad?

Sometimes recruiters/companies/schools test the waters with low ball offers to see if anyone is stupid enough to take it. If no, the ad is reposted, but with a higher salary. If one person accepts it however, that becomes the new norm and salaries go down down for all of us. |

4. Teaching Loads & Semesters
- Nine credit hours per week during two (spring & fall) regular 15 week semesters.
- Eight weeks of paid vacation for each of the summer and winter breaks. |
Nine hours of class with no research duties. It's a paid sabbatical.
Now planning and teaching nine hours of law courses could be demanding, but the salary offered suggests the position doesn't carry much responsibility. |

There you go...sometimes it is worth looking beyond the raw pay. |

I knew you'd chime in with the "if anyone accepts any wage under the norm it drives down wages for us all" spiel. Though I agree with you, you are the poster boy now for these comments. |

If you agree with it then why are you bothered by it?
Real Reality posts = more pay in your pocket at the end of the day.
3DR posts = less money in your pocket.
Which would you rather have? |
