I want to make public a private message sent to me when I responded on a forum about Korea vs. China. This person said this

Die painfully okay? Prefearbly by getting crushed to death in a
garbage compactor, by getting your face cut to ribbons with a
pocketknife, your head cracked open with a baseball bat, your stomach
sliced open and your entrails spilled out, and your eyeballs ripped
out of their sockets. fvcking btch

I really hope that you get curb-stomped. It'd be hilarious to see you
begging for help, and then someone stomps on the back of your head,
leaving you to die in horrible, agonizing pain. fggot

STFU, before you get your face bashed in and cut
to ribbons, and your throat slit.

Please ban him and do not reply to this guy.

LOl... it is a bot and NOT a registered user.
It exploits a security flaw in the software.
It is not a real person.
You can go back to sleep now.

wait...you are telling me there is an evil robot out there that can identify security flaws in software and independently issue death threats?! That's even scarier than a real person.

I'm not sure but I think he is a registered user. When I clicked on his name I saw he asked someone about travel to Abu Dhabi before.

I know this guy. John works in a hagwon down the street from me. Normally he's very mild-mannered & his students love him, but sometimes, without warning, he goes over the edge & spews some pretty nasty stuff to random strangers on internet boards. Thats just John, he doesnt really mean it. If you see him, give him a hug.

It got two messages. I'm a little sad he wasn't insulting me individually. The fact that everyone got a message makes me feel 'un-special'

I'm a real person, and if you'd like, I'll insult you for a very minimal fee. I'm not sure if I would be able to sign a globally exclusive contract, but I'd be happy to sign one making you the only person on Dave's that I'd insult regularly in private messages, you worthless sod.*

OK so say it really is a bot exploiting a security flaw. Is it any coincidence that the person who got the message was posting in a Korea vs China thread and that China is famous for hacking, online espionage, etc.?

I would be interested to see if the person who got this message said anything bad about China recently or if there is a pattern to it.

It's not a bot, it's an angry Korean guy who lives in California.

He has threatened people on ROK drop, most other Korean blogs, and a few other Korea related forums. He makes random accounts, posts a few short posts to gain credibility, and then starts sending threats to people who have said something critical about Korea. He only harasses people on Korea-related forums. He sometimes posts anti-American messages on news sites, but his IDs get banned very quickly.

He has a large text file that he copies and pastes messages from. The original text from his posts are taken from a famous rant posted a long time ago, and people continue to copy + paste the text from that epic rant mostly because copy+pasting threats is easier than actually typing them out. He simply creates accounts and then copies and pastes. He makes 99% of his posts on English language Korea-related sites.

At first I thought it was a bot too, but I checked some of his fake names, and they only appear on Korea related sites, most of which he's been banned from.

His IP address is 69.225.131.56. He trolls around the Expat Korea forum, ROK drop, some newspaper sites etc.

It was confirmed not to be a bot because the registration forms he filled out one on Korea-related site required math and CAPTCHA for registration. He's just some moron with a hard-on for harassing expats in Korea. Ironically, he lives in California himself. I'd be willing to bet he's going to spray a school or shopping mall with gunfire. Just a matter of time.

On one site he tried to build up credibility by replying to a bunch of posts with short, neutral replies, and the once he got upgraded posting privileges, he started sending threats to members who wrote something critical about Korea in a blog post he didn't like.

Dude, I think its a bot...when I first searched it out there were posts about this on forums dealing with Jaguar cars or Ayn Rad fan sites or sites about cooking.

Anyone taking these seriously is exactly the kind of person I would like to send a bot mail out to asking them to send me $5 to my paypal account because I'm former Nigerian royalty.

When I replied to the 'bots' email, telling him to f-off, he sent me a message back saying that if he's ever in Busan, he's going to kill me. Must be a pretty smart 'bot'.
