I have an E2 visa. I want to go to Japan for a weekend to see my friend. Do I need a Single/Multiple permit or can I just book a round trip and all is cool? |

Provided you have an ARC you do NOT need a re-entry permit.
AS of Dec 2010 ALL registered foreigners were entitled to unlimited exit/entry privileges for as long as your ARC remains valid.
If you do NOT have your ARC yet the exit will cancel your E2 and you cannot get a re-entry permit.

I also think that all E2 visa's are now multiple entry.
If you're really concerned, call immigration and ask them. They can look you up in their system right away and tell you exactly what YOUR situation is. If it turns out that you do need to get an extra entry or multiple entry modification to your visa, then you can do that at any immigration office, or if you're pressed for time, at Incheon airport. If you do it at the airport, make sure that you arrive a few hours ahead of time so that you can find the office and fill out the paperwork. It's just a form and a small fee. They process it right there on the spot and update you in their database immediately. Very simple procedure. |

Only for Americans. All others, the actual visa is single entry until you get your ARC. After you get your ARC the "registered foreigner" rule applies.
