GEPIK is axing NET jobs. The market continues to shrink. |

Could you please provide substantiated evidence with this claim?
Like all market trends, things generally shrink and grow consistently over time, it's a given. I've heard things from, "NETs will be phased out by 2014" and then I heard things like, "EPIK/GEPIK hiring another 1100 NETs this year". Nobody ever seems to be right when making claims.
It's kinda like the saying, "The world is coming to an end." Yeah, they've been saying that over 2,000 years ago and it continues today. |

Public school jobs are getting cut all over Korea. Talk to some people in public schools if you don't believe it. |

"Riches to rags" is such an inappropriate title for this thread.
In most cases it will be riches to even more riches.
Your typical GEPIKer will transfer to a school with funding intact and continue to add to his/her bank balance (which probably reads something like 40 million won)
If that fails there are tons of other jobs in Korea requiring the services of a waygook.
Said waygook may take a cushy little after school job or something like that. |

Teaching English to children sounds like a relaxing plum job. I'm sure they are well behaved and eager to know more about the grammar of the English language.

2.1 million?! I will be a millionaire! 대박! But wait…how much is that in American money? (?_?) (*_*) ($_$) (@.@) (@_@) |

You and a group of 4 or 5 of your friends get together and apply for GEPIK middle school and high school positions. Then, get back and let us know the results. |

After that, apply for SMOE high school and middle school jobs, and after that EPIK.
GEPIK axed some elementary school positions this time too, BTW. |
