Hell, I lied. They have gotten cheaper.

Anyone charging 150+ for a repair is out of their mind.

Obviously repairing it yourself is gonna be cheaper. Best Buy charges something like 75 to install Windows, people pay it cause it's not worth their time or they don't know how.

takes like 5 minutes to install.

Also, windows costs 75$. They install it for free.

Charging a 140$ fee to do 5 minutes of work is outrageous.

I'd like to make 1,600$+ per hour too.

There's a guy at Technomart who does it on the spot if you're not game to do it yourself. I smashed my iPhone 5 screen last summer and it was going to take several days and about 220,000 won to have Apple fix it. I took it to Technomart and the guy did it in front of me in 10 minutes for 190,000 won. I believe the iPhone 4 is substantially cheaper, but don't know the exact cost. I believe he was on the 5th floor, but if you show the lady at the info desk at the entrance your smashed phone, she'll tell you for sure. The iPhone 5 repair came with a 100 day warranty and it has worked just fine.

I don't know why you're arguing. Some people need their phone fixed asap and will pay to have it fixed in a day. Not everyone can sit around waiting for a package to arrive and then try to fix it themselves.

And best buy charges 129.99 to install an OS and you have to supply the discs.

Who the hell is paying 130$ to get an OS installed?

Step 1: Insert discs

Step 2: Follow made for monkey directions and click buttons

Step 3: Done

Thanks folks. I'm still in Ireland so I might get it done here seeing as the prices you quoted are so expensive.

It's 50 euro here which is about 75,000W.

Just thought it might be cheaper in Seoul.

Thanks for the info.

Whatever. He didn't just replace the glass, he replaced the LCD too. It was one combined unit that didn't look like it could've been easily separated. Even if it could've been, I have zero experience doing this myself and wasn't going to risk effing it up further to save myself some money. Also, as someone else mentioned, I would've had to wait for it to arrive. My screen was smashed pretty thoroughly and sprinkling glass dust everywhere. Not a situation I was going to sit on for a week.

Kraggy, the price I quoted was the iPhone 5, I believe the 4 is quite a bit cheaper.
