Just thought you forum members who love Thai food would like to know (if you didn't already) about a great Thai place called Pad Thai in Ansan.
The owner is a friendly Korean man who lived 12 years in Isaan, northern Thailand, and speaks fluent Thai. His joint caters to Thais working around there so don't expect Koreanized Thai food. His Thai wife and mother-in-law are there cooking the dishes.
Not sure if the owner speaks English but if you can speak Korean or Thai, he is a great person to talk to.
The beer prices on Singha and Chang are good, too.
To get there, get out exit 1 of Ansan Station until you are on the other side of the street and in what I call Southeast Asia Town. As you as you finish climbing the stairs, keep walking and look right, going past two Vietnamese restaurants, and then look for the sign Pad Thai. |

Awesome, thanks for the idea. I'll definitely give it a go next time I'm there. |

Unlike most Thai joints in Korea, the owner refuses to Koreanize his dishes, so most of his customers are Thais in Korea and expats from the West. I just had his fried noodles and they were great and just 7,000 won.
I just want his place to succeed because good restaurants in Korea have a tendency of going under or selling out. |
