I would avoid the above mentioned places for completely opposite reasons : the owner of the hill pub is a donkey's behind that steals your food and then wants to fight you about it like a proper drunk - and Shenanigans refused to serve our party when one of use had a bit of a wobble. He was Irish!

In my best Rick Moranis voice: Inconceivable!!

Wouldn't that be Wallace Shawn? (aka Grand Negus Zek)

So you're getting mad at a bar for not serving someone who is too drunk to stand up or walk straight? That just seems like responsible barmanship to me.

I was at a bar here once & a Korean guy in our party was so drunk he couldnt speak coherently & was spilling drinks. Manages to tip his chair over backwards & ends up sprawled on the floor, out cold. Waitress puts a cushion under his head & continues serving us for another couple hours, having to literally step over him to get to our table.

[We carried him down the stairs after & poured him into a taxi. He survived.]

The guys who run Shenanigans do a great job trying to build their business, improve their already good menu and drink selection, and support dart and pool teams, but you want to bust their chops for wanting to cut off a guy already 3 sheets to the wind? I wonder how 'bit of a wobble' your buddy had?

It's a great pub and it's getting better all the time. They deserve your consideration and your bsiness. Move along...nothing to see here.
