Hi all, I am looking to find a job in S. Korea for Fall 2014 and I am kind of drowning in how many recruiters there seem to be. I read that I should probably apply through a number of recruiters, but I want to stick to the tried-and-true to limit the headaches. I've been searching around and came across Greenheart Travel http://greenhearttravel.org/program/adult/teach/teach-in-south-korea which I like because they give you a 10 day orientation period, which seems uncommon among other recruiters.
Other recruiters I have considered are:
Say Kimchi Recruiting http://www.saykimchirecruiting.com/
GEPIK http://gepik-tek.weebly.com/index.html
If it helps: I am looking to stick to public schools, I would prefer somewhere in/around Seoul (though I am open to other metropolitan areas), and I can teach any level K-12.
If anyone has any experiences with these I would love to hear them. Also if anyone has a reliable recruiter that they can suggest I appreciate it. |

Choosing Recruiter(s)? |
-is a bit like choosing girlfriends.
Watch for the danger signs. Red lights should be flashing if they phone you 20 times at 3am. |

Use multiple recruiters, go with the one that gets you the job you want. |

Can vouch for Say Kimchi, they landed me a solid job in my first year. I believe they only do hagwon though. I've heard good things about Go East (foreigner-run, based in Ulsan where I was) and Flying Cows, and I know lots of people who applied for EPIK through Footprints and said they were excellent.
Agree with DaeguNL though - use plenty of recruiters, try to stick to non-Korean ones, and whoever you go with, make damn sure you can at least email a current or (even better) former teacher, and go over the contract with a fine tooth comb. Ask on here if you see any yellow flags. |
