|
|
I've been thinking about starting a homestay/유학 business geared towards Korean students when I move back to Toronto, Canada next year. Does anyone have any experience in this regard or know anyone who is doing this now? Any feedback or ideas on getting started, advertising and how much I could charge would be appreciated as well.
I'm hoping that I can offer prospective students a significant savings by acting as both the school and the homestay - doing lessons from my office in the same house where they would be staying. No need for the students to go to another school at all. Not quite sure how feasible it would be but Koreans in Busan where I teach were quite enthusiastic about the idea.
Along with the daily small classroom or one on one lessons I would offer weekend "cultural trips" to Niagara Falls, CN Tower etc. Any thoughts/advice on all this would be great - thanks. |

You need a lot of continuous, updated connections in Korea to make it fly.
Making inroads into the Korean community in TO would also help for making connections.
Then there are the business side issues in Canada that you have to deal with. (municipal/provincial licenses, taxes, insurance, etc.)

Running a business is a risky. You can make millions, or you can go completely broke. Are you willing to roll the dice? |
