With this upcoming 4 day weekend, (Jan 30 - Feb 2, 2014) , what day do you think will be best / worst to do a costco run? I can go at 8:00 right when they open (youngdungpo).
I am not sure of the Korean progression of events for this holiday. Is there one day where most everybody is at home with their family, like back on Chusok?
Not sure if Sunday is the regular forced closure day, I think it is. That will add more crush to the other days. |

I've been wondering the same thing, in regard to when the store will be least crowded. My guess is that it's going to be a bit crazy on Thursday, with the limited hours of operation and everyone trying to get things ready for for Friday, which is the main celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday. That leaves you with Saturday and Sunday, which are busy days no matter the time of year. |

My experience has been that no matter what day it's open, the early the better. And even that doesn't always hold true. |

Early Saturday or Sunday would be the best times. My guess would be Saturday morning because this is a drinking holiday and many, many people will be sleeping it off. There may be a large number of people away from home, but who knows? These traditional holidays are becoming less important to Koreans, especially single ones. |
