Does anyone else have issues trying to connect to ‘Ollah’ wifi in bloody Starbucks? You have to input your name and foreigner number.. then it says my number is wrong?

You have to input your name exactly as it is printed on your foreigner card in ALL CAPS. I have never had an issue with connecting, but you are correct in that their wifi is terrible. It's not strong enough to handle all the people using it and keeps fading out.

And BTW, the company name is 'Olleh'.

I managed to work out the name issue, I had to input my name without any spaces. I can't figure out the foreign number though, I even asked the Starbucks staff to help.. still no luck.

Right, i forgot about the no-spaces requirement.
You also have to press the "Verify" button before proceeding with logging in. Did you press "Verify"?

Also, when you get the "Access Internet" window, you get 2 choices:
1. Use your passport
2. Use your registration card.

Are you sure you are selecting the right one? And have you tried using the passport option?

Yeah I’m pressing the verify button, then the ‘incorrect foreign number’ message appears. I only tried the foreign card option because that’s all I had with me. I’ll try the passport option the next time I’m there.

thats a shame... all the starbucks dont have the same password on their wifi anymore?

hmm.. I don't know if they ever did, most coffee places do but Starbucks are making life difficult

I tried the starbucks wifi yesterday (Mangwon branch, line 6) and it didn't ask for ARC or passport info. It was Olleh, but they wanted my mobile phone number (LG, SK, any number was OK). I input my number and got online just fine. I hope they did charge the mobile phone number account as an extra charge. I'd hate to see an extra 10k won on my phone account for an hour of Olleh internet. I guess I'll find out at the end of Feb, unless anyone already had experience with this?

A little trick I figured out when the English page seemed to have nowhere to access free wifi.

This is when your browser directs you to the red Olleh page, not the Starbucks page.

Click on Korean, and there's the Starbucks free wifi button (easy enough to figure out even if you can't read Korean). Click the agreement buttons, and then you can just input nonsense for name, e-mail, and phone number, and off you go.

May I suggest going to ANY OF THE OTHER (I'm guessing) 20 coffee shops around the neighborhood that you're in?

Be careful guys make sure you connect through a VPN
Get yourself a cheap VPS in Korea and install open vpn in it
install vpn application in your iphone or lap top
