Koreans really don't want the world to think of dogs when they think of Korea. Or maybe by having the Jindo 'win' Koreans will feel compelled to improve their image in relation to dogs and start treating them better, regulate or close down the dog meat industry, and stop tying them up on a two foot leash for life. If that can be done then I'd happily vote for the Jindo as dog of the year.
You know, this really could be a watershed moment to bring international attention to the state of dogs in Korea. If it wins dog journals and newspapers would be eager to write stories about the Jindo and its history in Korea. This, inevitably, would lead to stories on 'dogs in Korean culture' generally and the bad press might shame Korea into changing its ways.
How can we help the Jindo win this competition? |

Yeah they both look like yama-inu but they are from different gene pool.
Not only that shiba inu are not known to solve partial differential equations like Jindo-gae are known to do. |

People that are really in to the westminster dog show are those annoying dog people. The ones that have to take them everywhere. |

I had a jindo-gae for a couple of years when I lived there. She wasn't very smart (like, say, my GSP), but she was a good looking and sweet dog. |
