Anyone do a visa run to Philippines before ???
Any logistics I need to worry about ?
My Uni contract WAS supposed to start March 1st, had problems switching an E2 to an E1 at korean immigration office, so can't start til April 1st.
Figured I'd collect my exit allowance, get my advanced open water diving cert. in the Phils, then pick up my E1 visa in Manila
Thanks! Didn't see anything using the search function |

passport
visa confirmation number
1-2 passport type photos
application
fees (correct change, pesos only)
1-2 hour wait in line to get into the visa section (no backpacks, computer bags, laptops or other bags allowed into the building).
2-3 hour wait to get to the window to hand in your application AFTER you get into the building (consular section)
wait 4-5 business days
Do the lineup thing again
pick up your passport with your visa in it.

The Philippines process sounds like a nightmare.
In Bangkok you walk in (you don't get any security screening) you take in whatever you want. Application time is in the morning. Waited a total of 30 minutes as there were people before me. Went back the next day in the afternoon to collect my visa/passport. Waited 30 minutes as people were before me and the process was done!
The P.I. does not sound like a nice experience. |
