Just downloaded the first couple of episodes of 'The Fall' starring Gillian Anderson of X-Files fame. Definitely worth checking out if your into real gritty TV drama. Anderson stars as a special detective brought in to solve a series of baffling serial murders in N.Ireland. Not really a conventional whodunnit in the sense that right from the outset the killer is made known to the viewer but it kindof makes it all the more intriguing. Only annoying thing is Andersons attempt at a UK accent. It sort of sounds like its from nowhere in particular!

Yes, I've heard it was a great drama too. Tried to download it from my usual site but didn't work so need to give it another try.

I thought this thread was going to be about another new show "True Detective."

That's ironic - cos she's bidialectal - speaks perfect British English - has English father and grew up in UK until age 11.. She can shift from US - UK accent in everyday speech..I think she now lives in UK. And takes mostly UK Drama roles..
Personally didn't love The Fall..but to each his own etc..

I suggest True Detective.

Cool series so far.

I just watched episode 1 last night and I like it so far. Matthew McConaughey's character is err...interesting, to say the least. I can't wait to get home and watch the next episode.

It's an American show on HBO and stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. Here's the trailer.

The first two episodes left me skeptical (mostly due to McConaughey's strangeness) but episodes three and four likely pulled me in for good.

Perhaps we can get a list going. The ones I enjoy are The Killing (from season 3 though), Whitechapel, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, The Fall, Broadchurch (American version in the works called "Gracepoint").

On a lighter side, I can stomach "Bones" and Body of Proof once in a while. Criminal Minds talks down to the audience too much, though more recent episodes are better than nothing when you can't find a good movie.
