I'm looking into trying to find an after school job to work at. Apparently these are done at public schools and I like the hours better and seems better than a Hagwon and possibly working split shifts. I am NOT talking about TaLK.
Has anyone gone through a recruiter and done an after school program? I know that Think Outside Recruiting and adventure teaching Recruiters advertise it. I do not think it is related at all with Epik or Gepik..I just know they are done in public schools and you go through a recruiter. Any information on them would help plus advice!! |

Most look for F series visa holders, but some accept E2 transfers. Also remember they don't always provide housing/flights etc. But the hours are lower and the wages are higher.
Some schools run their own programs but most are run by external private companies. Different areas have different leading companies. So it depends on where you want to work? However the main hiring period has just finished so you might have to wait until Sept or next year (same as with Public School Roles). |

I feel like they are kind of hagwons on PEDs.
If you get a good one, it can be great. Short hours, high pay.
If you get a bad one, it can be terrible. Schools pulling out of their contracts with the company (leaving you in unpaid limbo), pocketing your taxes, health insurance and pension contributions, paying late, not paying severance, extra work dumped on you the day before (or the day after) it's due, etc, etc.
I'd say all of them have some kind of catch, it just depends how much it bothers you.
They seem to be constantly changing names, so if there's one you know has been around for a few years, it's probably one of the better ones.
If you encounter a man named Antonio, just leave. |
