Hello,

I lived for two years in South Korea as an ESL instructor. I am now a graduate student studying anthropology and have just won a scholarship to travel to a university of my choosing for summer language training. I did learn some Korean while I was in country, but not a great deal. So, I am hoping that I can find a program in a rural area, or at least outside of Seoul. that might better "immerse" me in the language. Does anyone know of any well regarded universities outside of Seoul that I can look into about summer language programs? Has anyone else done anything like this, and if so, what was your experience?

I'm pretty sure Ajou University in Suwon has one.

Thanks for the reply but Suwon is still pretty urban. I was hoping to find some place out in the country.

In that case be more specific about your needs. Is it like: spend a year of undergraduate study living in a rural area? Can it be a junior college i.e. 2-year techs? You won't find a 4-year uni in the sticks, you know.
