|

So I have from many people and recruiters, that peoples EPIK application forms will be rejected by the Gyeongsangnamdo Department Of Education, for sending the same application form through different agencies.
I friend of mine, who has alot of experience in recruitement(not ESL recruitment though), said that this is just a common blatant lie, used by recruiters to prevent people from applying for the same positions through different agencies.
I know he doesn't have experience in ESL recruitment, but it comes across as a very believable argument, as most recruitment industries are fairly cut throat competitive.
I am not saying I am 100% correct about this, but I welcome anyone to challenge this argument. |

Do you want an answer or a "challenge to your argument"? |

The request for use of single recruiter for EPIK apllication comes from EPIK appplication guidelines, not from recruiters, therefore your friend although he meant well, missed his mark.
on the side note:
I too, have been spammed.

Bit of a letdown really, I expected a longer, disgusting, infuriating, spamtastic message. My narcissistic pride is hurt. |

To be clear, EPIK would (in the past) reject applications that came from multiple sources. This is not about recruiters per se. |

Ok, you have proved me wrong!
However, is it not possible to apply for a public school position through different agencies without sending out an application form( that is if you have already sent out an application form through one agency)?
I mean, could you not just tell other recruiters that you have already sent out the application form? |

This is how it works. There are two types of schools.
1. Those who use EPIK (which is a govt agency that handles hiring of NETs for public schools in EPIK's area of control) for hiring NET.
2. Those who use their own agents to hire NET but are in EPIK's area of control.
Now what EPIK doesn't want is an avalanche size of econo-fugee-yama of applications because of multiple applications from same persons. I mean, EPIK enjoy turning down applicants as much as anyone whose feet ain't big enough for their boots, but they are not animals. Hence the no-multiple-recruiter rule for EPIK. However, if you are applying to Type 2 schools, then you can use multiple recruiters, because EPIK doesn't have to handle your applications. They couldn't care less.
You may get to hear this from KETs in future: you underSTAAAAND? |

I have known about the multiple recruiters rule for some time and it is typical of the way things are now. If you choose ONE recruiter, make ABSOLUTELY sure that you have completed the application form correctly and that you have all the paperwork required. Otherwise you will be rejected out of hand. It happened to me one when I applied for a job. The Recruiter, Worknplay, thought I had e-mailed him a completed form, when I was only asking him to check it for errors.
Due to the unusually protracted and deep depression in the west, South Korea has more applicants than it needs. Please bear in mind though, that before 2009, the public schools could not fill all their posts. If there were no depression, things would get easier. At last the economies in the west are starting to pick up. |

Ok, so far I am after applying through GOE. Is this separate to EPIK? The application form I filled is specific to GOE and not EPIK. I understand that Epik is a nationwide agency. However, I want to apply to other places and not just Gyeongsangnam-do. So I am thinking of applying through GEPIK and the other big public school recruiters. However, I am afraid to do this in case they reject my application. Will they reject my GOE application, if I apply to EPIK, GEPIK and others?
I might be asking a stupid question, cause they are all based in different locations, but I just want to be safe than sorry.
Cheers for your help so far! |
