I had an FBI background check completed last year - it is dated 5/29/2013. It is sitting in the U.S. waiting for me. I could have it apostilled and in my hands within a week.
I am thinking about applying for a job in Korea teaching in the fall of 2014. Will this background check be useful, or do I need to get another one done? I live in China now, and have not been back to the U.S. since 12/2013, if that makes any difference. |

You need a new one, it's too old. |

6 months old from date of issue (or less) when it lands on the desk at immigration.
6 months + 1 day (or more) and you need a new one.
It makes no difference whether you have been home or not during that period.
