Hello everyone. As far as I know, most of the medium/large sized businesses in Korea have specific funds earmarked for paying English institutions to teach their employees. However, I have also heard that these funds cannot be used unless a specific government-sanctioned (?) company is involved.

As I am not the biggest fan of handing over 70%+ of the money that is being spent towards the classes that I teach to a large middleman English company, I was hoping that perhaps someone here at Dave's knows of a way a private instructor could interact directly with the companies here.

In this case, the instructor would of course take care of the initial marketing and business development to find the company in the first place; establishing the relationship and preparing multiple course syllabuses that would fit the prospective students. Finally, the instructor would also take care of the instruction as well as the feedback, scoring and attendance records.

Perhaps a company exists whose purpose is to allow instructors to directly interact with companies like this while taking a small commission? Alternatively is it possible for a Korean national to set up a company that would be able to do the same?

Greatly appreciate your feedback and advice all. Thanks.

Its probably got something to do with being a tax write off. If they pay you like a private would, they wouldn't be able to write that money off.
