North Korea announced early on Monday that it would hold live-fire drills in seven parts of the border area.

South Korea says it returned fire after North Korean shells landed in its territorial waters.

They are just using up old ammunition before it expires. They don't want to lose their budget for new ammo.

These armies are all the same.

Yeah, seems to be the season.

Soon it will be rice planting time and everything will settle back down. Least that has been the pattern.

I am sure that many wish...get it on and get it over with! This nonsense has been going on for decades! All they do is yak yak yak...long on rhetoric and short on specifics.
If NK really wanted a war...they have the initial edge with their million man army. They would overrun the south at first before the allies jumped in. The U.S. alone could not repel NK...not enough U.S. troops in SK.
So listen up you leaders in NK and SK; enough is enough. Quit your crying, complaining, whining, etc. and just shake hands and become one country for the benefit of both countries! Swallow your pride and be a stand up man!

I didn't even really think about it at the time (I just assumed it was training), but now I know what all the jets were about last week. There was one day where there were military jets dicking around overhead from about 2pm-11pm.

If US attacks NK, China will defend NK as per The 1961 Sino-North Korean Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance

If NK attacks anybody, China will wash their hands of it and NK will be alone against SK and USA.

Basically, it's the eternal stalemate. I guess the only reason to give aid is because the people shouldn't be punished for the actions of a psychotic dictator.

None of these armies want to fight. They just want to act all tough and talk about The Big Bad Wolf so they can keep the money flowing in and the good times rolling. They are all the same.

Say that to the families of the crew of the Cheonan.

That wasn't a fight. It was premeditated murder.

If anything the families would reach that same conclusion because I'm sure many of them would like to see some kind of retribution only to see it stagnate like it did before. Cynicism would eventually take over because they actually care.

Well, if there is a similar situation and live fire is incoming, soldiers on the ground aren't necessarily going to consider all the strategic implications and instead follow their ROE. I think you are underestimating the resolve of the ROKAF personnel to deal with these kinds of situations.

How do you know? Perhaps you can enlighten us with your extensive knowledge of ROKAF personnel, their resolve, incoming live fire, and ROE, whatever that is. Return on equity? Rotten old eggs?

This Korean war thing is beyond sillyness like some puppets being played by the Illuminati. I think it's silly and often laugh about it as if it were small children having a difference and whining about being crossed, but it's really horrible if a conflict involving big dangerous toys is actually to play out one day. It probably will happen at the rate they are going into foolish terratory. The drones claim is comedy...

Did you notice how there was an Earth quake on Wednesday morning right where 500 missiles were exploded on Monday and the exchange of fire happened? While in the sea, the blasts must had shaken the Earths crust, caused settling, and the changed caused a serious Earth quake off South America. The effects of something is global and somethings happening that is different than before. Monday's missile fire exchange was in the West Yellow sea of China or whatever it is now called in the area between the 2 different Northern limit lines just a stones throw from a big shiny world class airport.

And there you have some armchair General talk.... lol

That what looked to be something cooked up in someone's garage NK drone actually had photos of the Blue House.

This does not inspire much confidence in the ROK military.
