Hello! Forgive me if I should be posting this somewhere else. I am terrible at taxes, and I can't seem to understand when I try to research the topic....I have been in Korea for 10 months teaching at a hagwon, but I am switching to EPIK in about 2-3 months. From what I understand it seems like you only have 2 years to be exempt from Korean taxes by filling out the 6166 form...I was going to send it in, but I have a few questions if someone could kindly help me...1.)I paid taxes in 2014 in the U.S....on line 8 is this the year I put? 2.)on part 4 I checked individual and U.S. citizen...but do I need to fill out the partial-year form 2555 filer?
I guess I am a bit confused by the 2555 form. After you finish a year in Korea, what forms are imperative to fill out for U.S. taxes, especially if you are staying on longer? Thank you so much!! |
