|
|
Several of my friends during the past couple of years have applied for a position with EPIK. Some got hired and some did not......
It seems like EPIK and the recruiting agencies do not really seem to have any standard criteria for deciding who gets in and who does not. The only exception to this seems to be that a certified teacher is pretty much 100% guaranteed.
Aside from being a certified teacher, the EPIK application seems to be like applying for any other job back home in that a variety of criteria (much of it seeming to be arbitrary) seems to be used.
Is it just me, or do others seem to notice this............ |

I spoke with one of the people who was responsible for screening applications for Gangwon EPIK some years back, and he actually chuckled over how he let his own personal biases against middle-aged, unmarried applicants cause him to arbitrary block a lot of them. It was just one fellow, but I doubt he was the only one who acted that way. It really can all come down to some guy just not liking something about you. |

This can happen at any job, and it takes place in America all the time. Look at the IT field. It's run by 20 to early 30 year olds. Over 40 and trying to get an IT job? YOu can forget about it.
It's life. Get over it. |
