Anyone that grew up through the 80s and 90s in the UK will surely remember the young ones, bottom and Blackadder - he gave us some laughs.

The guy was really odd and wierd.

I suppose his angle was in behaving the opposite of how a grown man should, being an overgrown child.

His humor hit home because in the 80's many british men were basically doing that anyway.

It was a decade where manhood and malehood was derided and ridiculed and most male role-models or "heroes' in the public media were either clowns, effeminate or juvenile. He rode a wave.

One of the greatest comic actors in his generation. Rick in the Young Ones is indelibly imprinted in my mind forever. RIP Rik Mayall.

Someone mentioned that Rik Mayall had died, so I decided to check for myself.

I spent an hour Googling "Young Ones" and "Bottom", and have been asked to attend my local police station for questioning.
