NYPD twitter campaign implodes, flooded with photos of police abuse

http://rt.com/usa/154120-nypd-hashtag-twitter-police/

Just before 2 pm EDT, the New York City Police Department called via Twitter for photos of citizens with its officers. Almost immediately the campaign #myNYPD seemed to backfire, as users flooded the hashtag with photos decrying alleged police brutality.

The backlash against the New York Police Department even spilled over into a user-generated campaign focused on the Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday evening, dubbed #myLAPD by social media users.

There are tons of police abuse videos from all over the country. Many of them against your run of the mill, guy or gal next door suburban types...basiclly people like you and I.

The hypocracy is that stop and search in NYC is justified by people of color like titus on here but its not okay when its you and i.

The police no longer 'protects and serves' only. Its a revenue generating agency. The state and lcoal cities have no money and the police are a good way to tax the people by writing tickets for anything. things that used to be a warning before is written up.

Also, since 911 the police have felt beholden. Things that used to be over reaching and get you some money in a small lawsuit is routinely thrown out in courts or the police defend the actions.
