If you are already living and teaching in Korea, is there any paperwork to do if you take a position at another school/hagwon? Such as, criminal record checks or diploma verification? Or is it just a simple visa transfer?
And if you do have to redo some of the papework, how long in advance should one start getting it done?
I've got about 4 months left on my contract and will begin to cast my line out there to see if there are any bites. Just trying to figure out the timeframe for things. I also am hoping to not have a gap between jobs. |

simple transfer from one to the next is quick, easy and requires no new paperwork from home (UNLESS you are moving to a new PS job - they, an an employer, will as for a new set - employer requirement / not an immigration requirement).
If you don't have a job lined up to move straight into you can do a change of status to D10 (looking for work) and back to an E2 when you find a job.
Again, no outside paperwork.

I would highly recommend having a spare set of documents with you even if you think you don't need them. You never know when you might need them. If you don't like your job and want to quit, a new set of docs means that a new visa is only a visa run away.
On a related note. It seems that you're asking about transferring your visa after your current job finishes, but in case your interested in taking a second job at the same time as the first, you also don't need any new documents. Just a letter from your current, main employer. |
