I bought a can of Kloud beer by Lotte last night in a 7eleven. It's a fairly standard K-style pilsner. Poured clear light yellow with a little carbonation. The head died very quickly. Taste was similar to most other Korean beers. Bland with little aftertaste. It's no better than any other Korean beer, and it seems today my bowel movement was loose, as is normal when I drink Korean mass produced beer. I don't know what they put in the beer here but it goes through me like Drano.
Overall it is a waste of money, time, and energy buying Kloud. Koreans have proven to me time and time again that they can't make a decent beer. My advice is to avoid Kloud and all other Korean beers. Save your money for decent beers. |

| You sound angry. Are you gointo shoot up an elementary school now? Whites have time and time again proven that they have anger management problems and shoot children as a result. Especially over beer and minorities. |

| Aleston wasn't that good either. The Aleston black was the better tasting one, but so far the Queen's bitter has been the best so far feom the Korean companies. |

Actually though, isn't true of all alcohol? Tequila especially. That'll sand-blast your colon.

Dude, shut up.
Anyways, the best Korean version of Western alcohol remains the cheap bliss that is Captain Q. It joins the great line of cheap, memorable, and next-day regrettable alcohols like Carlo Rossi, Red Dog, Steel Reserve, and Ten High.
As far as K-beers, tried the Queen's- meh. I guess if that was their default beer it wouldn't get the hate the Hite and Cass do, but as a 'Premium' it is decidedly underwhelming. I'd rather have a basic Max than a 'Premium' Queen's Ale, and from what it sounds like, a Kloud. |

Yeah I don't know what they put in the beer either, but it doesn't agree with me at all. Instant headache, groggy buzz, and headache the next day, even after only one glass.
Tried a couple of the newer Korean beers at a friends the other night. They are basically the same thing as the other junk they make, just marketed in fancier packaging with a foreign looking packaging/logo.
They know foreign beers are growing in popularity here and want a piece of the pie, so it seems to be basically a rebranding effort than an actual upgrade of the beer. |

bought a few cans over the weekend.
drank half of one, threw the rest out.
terrible in my opinion. Rather drink Cass, which is saying something. |

I agree. I tried both the Alestons and they were pretty dire. I think what Mix1 said hit the nail on the head: Korean companies aren't interested in making a decent beer, their sole interest remains sales. They will cut as many corners as possible to maximize their profits. In most of our countries there will be small microbrewers who use the quality and taste of their beers as a way to ensure profits, I think the closest mentality to that in Korea is 7brau. It's very sad. |

I was told Korean beer companies put chemicals in the beer to make it ferment faster. |

My approach is I buy a lot of one beer I know I like and then I experiment with 1 can/bottle of something I never had before. If it is bad, just mix a little with the beer you like. You won't notice it and the bad beer won't go to waste. One exception is REEB beer, never buy REEB.
