I have an interview coming up with Songpa Kid's College and I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this franchise. I have searched for reviews online but couldn't find much. Also, the recruiter that set me up with it is Jean with Apple Tree Edu. I have never talked to this recruiter on the phone or Skyped him/her and the first email after the confirmation of my application was the offer for this interview. To me that seems a little bit weird and maybe unprofessional that they wouldn't at least talk to me first but maybe that's not true. |

Kid's College tend to have a fairly poor reputation but it's a franchise so there are decent ones out there. Make sure you can speak to a current or (better) a former teacher about the job and the school.
Also, pro tip about teaching kindergarten: don't do it unless they pay you well. Teaching elementary/middle school is a piece of piss and usually pays about the same. |

Good to know thank you. I will definitely look for elementary jobs then. Thanks for the help. |

Don't get me wrong, teaching kiddies can be great fun and more rewarding than elementary/middle schoolers. They are, however, very hard work and take a certain personality. I know I couldn't do it.
The reason I say to make sure they pay properly is that I see swathes of kindie hagwons expecting 9 hours a day for as little as 2.1, which is an appallingly low salary for the workload. By all means go into kindie teaching if you think you'll like it, but don't let them lowball you on the salary. |
