My recruitment company is badgering me to book my flights to Korea, but I haven't yet received my passport back from the embassy with confirmation or otherwise of my E2 visa. My recruitment company says that the PIN number they have already given me counts as proof I will get the visa, but frankly I don't trust them even a little bit.

Can anyone confirm/deny whether an E2 visa PIN number is confirmation of a visa?

Many thanks

AFTER you get the visa confirmation number it is pretty much assured that you will get your E2. Consulates don't normally reject visa applications that have been pre-approved by immigration.

That said, it is also not advisable to book your ticket until you have your actual visa in hand. There is nothing worse than having a non-rebookable ticket for tomorrow and your passport hasn't made it back from the embassy yet.

Or better yet. make the reservation but don't pay for it until you have your visa in hand.

It's only a couple of days... don't panic. The recruiter just wants to make sure you will be on the plane and not have a change of heart.
