|
|
I had my FBI check apostilled by my state and was just told that the Seoul Immigration Office is picky and might reject it because it was not apostilled by the Federal Government.
I've had it apostilled by the state last year and it was not an issue (Suwon Immigration).
Has anyone had their FBI check apostilled by their home state and successfully went through Seoul Immigration?
Opinions?
Thanks |

Wait. You had it done last year? If that's the case you'll need a new one anyways as they are only good for 6 months. |

Honestly it's hit or miss. "Technically" it's supposed to be from the federal level...but what they enforce and let go seems to depend on the day and whose the one checking. |

I am getting some mixed opinions. Two ppl have told me they were able to get their VIN / Visa with a state apostille for their FBI check.
Think I might just have the recruiter send it and hope for the best. |

I just spent about an hour digging around the internet and daves. Read countless reports of ppl using their Secretary or State and not having any issues. Havent read of one person actually getting denied. Also, if you look on EPIKS website, under required documents it states you can have your apostille done through the Department of State OR your Secretary of State.

I feel a little bit better than last night. Let's see what happens. |

Update,
Had the school call the exact Seoul Immigration Office's Visa Application Department and they said a state level apostille is fine. So, will be sending it in. Hopefully, they spoke with a competent individual that knew what he was talking about. |

Just got my VIN for the visa.
Seoul Immigration does indeed accept FBI CBC's with state apostilles. |
