I see this almost on a daily basis. There will be some ajoshie or ajumma walking around outside their home or shop swatting flies. What are they thinking? Do they think they can kill enough flies outside to prevent them entering their premises? Are they doing it out of boredom? Is there some superstition involved? Because I see it almost daily. Me can't figures it out.
Wouldn't screens on their windows do a much better job? |

| Are they using those electric fly swats people sell on the street? If so, I wouldn't blame them. After a bottle of soju, it's pretty fun. |

Could be warming up for a game of badminton later in the evening. |

I also see that on a regular basis. Yesterday I saw an ajumma come out of her shop, fly swat in hand, completely determined on hunting down flies to kill. She didn't find any in the immediate environs of her shop so she went on a walkabout looking for them.
Baffling. |

They work well on small children too! |
