I've heard a few Koreans refer to "throat music" as a popular genre; any idea what that is? I know about Mongolian throat music, but this is something different. They seem to think it is a popular western genre of music, as in: pop, rock, country, throat...
First I just had a friend refer to it, then I heard "throat music" referred to on TV and in commercials.
Thanks,

It's Trot, not throat. It's name comes from the foxtrot genre that influenced it's development.
