I have accepted a teaching position at MFLI in Changwon and was wondering if anyone had heard of this school, or worked for them before? I ran a search and so far have been able to find nil on them (this will either bode well, or poorly for me).
It is my first time teaching abroad and while the contract and reference seems up to snuff, I am still seeking out additional information.
Anything informative you could tell me would be much appreciated. |

If it's the same one that I'm thinking of, they're huge. They are one of the biggest adult teaching outfits in the greater Busan area. I've heard that they have over 15,000 students going to their schools.
They have different schools throughout the area. I would assume that the one in Changwon is just one of the larger Mirae network. Unless we are talking about a small outfit that is using the Mirae name. Wouldn't be the first case over here.
If it's part of the Mirae adult network, it's a good outfit. Block-shift hours of teaching adults. 2 different pay systems. You can take 1.8-1.9/mnth or work at 1.4/mnth, plus enrollment commission. There's a guy that I heard who aims to make between 2.8-3.0 this next month, because of his good enrollment numbers. |

Thanks to both chronicpride and just because for your responses.
To chronicpride, from what you have told me I think it may be a small outfit that is using the Mirae name. I will be teaching ages 6-16, and as far as I know, I won't have any adult classes to teach.
Also the pay scheme is different, I have the basic 2.0/mnth minus deductions.
Thanks once again for the info. |
