|
|
I'm a korean American female who is looking for work but most jobs say they want the F-4 visa.
I am looking for work that will accept E-2 visa. The reason is that F-4 is too complicated and I want to start off with an E-2 and later transfer to an F-4.
Anyone know if I can find work in private school being gyopo with an E-2???
I'm thinking of going to korea and applying directly |

IF you want to get work on an E2 then just apply as a foreign citizen and don't let them know that you qualify for an F4.
US passport, us degree, FBI check....
If asked, deny Korean heritage.
Apply like any other American E2 applicant.

is it really THAT hard to get the stuff together for the F4?
you will have a much much much easier time finding jobs with an F4 than with an E2.
sacrifice some discomfort now in order to have it easier later.
there is no benefit of getting an E2 over an F4 if you have the option. that alone should make it worth the trouble. |

I thought you can only get the F4 if you are already in Korea? Do recruiters require you to have it before they can give you a job offer and pay for your flight? |

I would think that it would be worthwhile to do an F4 because if you didn't like a job you could simply quit and find a new one without worrying about transferring visas or sponsorship. No? |

the Korean embassy does have access to some records on people and if you were ever registered by a grand parent or something, they might be aware of your gyopo status. If they realize you're Korean and qualify for an F4 they will likely reject your E2.
There really is not reason to get an E2. Get an F4 and work at whatever you want however you want. come and go as you please. |

yep what alongway said.
and no, you don't have to be in korea to get your f4 and it's not that difficult of a process. |

Do you think it's possible to do this even though my full name is "Kenny Young Hyun Baik"? |

It has nothing to do with your given name, it has to do with your citizenship. If you are a citizen of an English speaking country then you simply follow the rules for applying as a foreign worker. Many of the gyopos who come to the country these days do it as E2 workers. So do as Ttompatz suggested and all should be fine. They are not going to question your status or ability to be on an F4 IF you don't mention it in the first place. Good luck on the job search. |
