|
|
I'm looking to apply for the F-4 visa in korea and then apply directly to schools.
However I will need housing for sure. I hear some schools don't provide housing and I'm concerned about that.
Anyone know?? I really want to apply for the F-4 instead of the E-2 |

It'll vary from place to place if you're applying to crapwons. Many, however, want F4s so they don't need to pay, or think they don't need to pay or provide, housing. For public schools, there shouldn't be a difference. Universities will vary.
In short, you're just going to have to ask... |

It seems it entirely up to the employer. I've seem some jobs which provide housing in a dorm if you're at a uni. However being a F6 holder when I was searching for a job most provide a housing allowance. You will have to provide the key money. |

Why do they do that? They expect you to live with your relatives? |

A simple answer for key money is a security deposit. The more you pay the less rent you pay. Some places will charge you 80% of a apartment and you will not pay rent.
Many F series visa holders have been in Korea for a while. They have established lives here. So they already have a place. As a F6 I'm married, and have a apartment. My employer provides a housing allowance which covers rent or mortgages. |
