I thought it was common knowledge that if an egg shell was hot then you apply cold water to it, the porous shell pushes the bacteria onto the egg?

That's why you let eggs cool naturally.

i'm surprised weird rambler hasn't come in and defended the awful factory-line process of creating eggs loaded with disease.
