''The paper, in the journal Biological Reviews, argues that the reinforcements evolved amid fighting over females and resources, suggesting that violence drove key evolutionary changes.''

"The jaw, cheek, eye and nose structures that most commonly come to grief in modern fist fights were also the most protected by evolutionary changes seen in the australopiths.

Furthermore, these are the bones that show the most differences between men and women, as well as between our male and female forebears. That is how you would expect defensive armour to evolve, Prof Carrier points out.

"In humans and in great apes in general... it's males that are most likely to get into fights, and it's also males that are most likely to get injured," he told BBC News.

I think so? I also word-searched for "Korean" and also "Asian" and found nothing. The article was about a predecessor to the Homo genus. But I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're not just making a joke about Korean men being inhuman / cavemen.

Well, I was making a joke, but not insinuating Korean men are less than human - no.

Ahh, so you weren't being condescending in any way towards the Korean race.

Does it matter? People make jokes against the American race, the French race and the Canadian race on here all the time, it's quite the racist site. Although to be fair the Australian race is generally held in high esteem over here, as is the German race and the Irish race.

It's been debated many times on here whether Korean is indeed a race altogether on its own. Are you of the opinion that this is the case?

I've read numerous books on Korean history and at no time has fist-fighting ever been common practice among Koreans nor even Mongols. Try again.

I agree they seem to have the perfect boxers face however. The sunken noses are less likely to break, the remarkably square-jawed look and the eyes are more protected. They look as if they have thicker skulls.

Korean heads are made for headbutting rather than fisticuffs. Some of the noggins here are huge - even on the kids.
For me, that is one of the quickest ways to distinguish between Koreans and other East Asians. I still have people telling me that I have a small face - something I never heard before I came to Korea. My face is not particularly small, but I guess it is relative.

One based on being insistent on bringing race up (in this forum and the other one, where I was ridiculously labeled a racist.). Whether or not Korean is a race is irrelevant to the fact that your op and the article therein has nothing to do with Koreans. It's an idiotic post, more idiotic than the one I put up which led you to say I was condescending and snide Question
