Hi everyone.

I live in the US. I got my Background check 2 months ago but didn't include a written note to get it apostilled. Do I need to resubmit my application for a background check with a not included or is there a way I can get around this?

When I did mine, I also forgot to include the note asking for the division director to notarize the CRC to prepare it for apostille. Luckily, I realized my mistake within a few days of sending it, so I was able to e-mail the FBI and ask them to notarize it. They did, and problem solved.

If you have already received the results, then you must start over as far as I know.

Just called the FBI CJIS division today to check on the status of my records. I also asked about including a note, and the representative said that all FBI checks automatically include the seal and signature, even if you didn't explicitly ask for one. They started doing this about a year ago, so you're all good!

Best of luck!
