I did a phone interview with Chungdahm Learnung thinking I did well. I find out I failed the interview and I'm not getting hired.

Is it difficult to get into Chungdahm really?
There seems to be many steps to getting hired and I failed the second step.
O well.

Right now there are more teachers than jobs, so nearly every school will have many more applicants than positions. If they have 10 applicants per job they will have to winnow the field at each step along the way.

IMO CDI sucks in any case.

Keep looking, it just takes time and persistance.

With reports of falling unemployment in the US and elsewhere, I expect that the number of applicants will fall and wages start to rise again for English teachers in Korea in the next 12 to 24 months. That will continue until the current bubble gets too big and we have the next recession.

You've dodged a bullet. Chungdahm has the dubious honour of being in the "do not work here" fraternity:

CDI (Chungdahm Institute)
SLP
Wonderland

Chin up and keep looking, you'll find a lot better.

The good news is that you failed the phone interview and not the in person (Korea) interview, saving yourself thousands of dollars in time and flights.
