|
|
Hi!
I just had a quick question. Well, I am applying for EPIK via KorVia. I had the Skype interview, and she said that they need the application completed by the end of August, and they would submit it by the beginning of October. I know you can start applying directly to EPIK on August 1st and they give first priority to those who apply directly. I guess my question is....do most recruiters take longer to submit the documents for you? I thought I would need to have the application done, they would review it, then I would revise it and they would submit it for you relatively soon. Is it important to apply more quickly? Or should I take the time to have them look it over and submit it later? Thank you (guess it wasn't that quick and it as a couple of question). |

If it's alright, I'm going to tack another question in the same vein on.
If you submit a public school application in August/September for Feb/March/April intake, isn't there a good chance your CRC will be expired by the time you're applying for your visa?
Is it standard practice to send the CRC along a bit later? |

NOA's are ususally sent out in January with approvals being done in Dec so your CBC should be fine if issued in July/Aug.
OP: I don't know.

OP, if you are concerned about getting first pick for location requests and hearing back from EPIK in a timely manner, I suggest you apply direct. I'm teaching with EPIK in the Fall and I applied with a recruiter. Direct applicants could start applying February 1st, whereas anyone going through a recruiter had to wait until April 1st to apply.
Thus, those who apply direct can do so earlier!
Also, when you initially apply, all you need are your 2 LORs and the completed application form. If you're in the states definitely apply for your CRC early, but I would wait until August to do so. You won't need send a CRC to EPIK until November/December most likely.
There's pros and cons to both options... but again, if you apply within those first two months, you definitely have the upper hand. |

Thanks, guys, this is all really helpful info. I didn't know that you had to wait to apply with a recruiter. I just thought it sounded like a long time. I still think it might be helpful to have the recruiter, and they seem very nice, so I might stick with them now that I know the timeline. I don't have the application ready yet anyways and I am still waiting to get my 2 LOR's back anyways. If I work on it and get it in soon then they can look over it and hopeful it will sound better. Congratulations on getting accepted for the fall! Also, 2nd poster, I was concerned I sent my CBC too early (mid-June, might have jumped the gun a bit) but I haven't gotten mine back yet and I'm praying I don't get it back too soon, hopefully we will both send it off at the right time! |

I know other's may have a different opinion, but if you hit it off really well during the initial interview with Korvia, they will be a very good option to go with for an EPIK position if you want to use a recruiter!
Best of luck. |
