The two corporals, who were on the military's list of soldiers "requiring extra care" and assigned to the 28th Infantry Division, were found hanged in one of the draftees' homes in Seoul on Monday, according to police officers.
They were on leave and were scheduled to return to their unit this week, the Army headquarters said, adding that an investigation is under way into exactly what happened to them.

Not every one is cut out for military life, especially some of the youngsters these days. Abolish the mandatory service, raise taxes if need be, and hire a professional military. |

This is the most interesting thing about suicide (esp. in Korea). I mean, the reasons especially in Korea seem to be leveled down when things really are complicated when it comes to the reasons take their own lives. But it's often ignored as a matter of identity rather than character. (i.e. Just cuz they're soldiers doesn't mean that they committed the act for that reason alone. I'm really bother at how the media simplifies such a major social issue here.)
I really wonder how this plays out. |
